Winter Wonderland Photo Shoot – Style Me Pretty Feature!

I am so excited to share some great news with all of you! Our Winter Wonderland Photo Shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty this morning!

This photo shoot started with the planning, back in early November. I have been working with Kristen of Kio Kreations for a couple months now on these inspirational shoots. It has been the best project I have ever done. The amount of creativity that gets thrown around between us is truly inspiring. After each planning session we have I usually want to make about five new things.

For this shoot we had help from the following AMAZING people: Tasha from Redwall Photography, Cynthia Sally, Kristen from Kio Kreations, Our lovely model Amy Christian and our great location at the Armour House. The shoot took place outside of the Chicago area (Lake Forest, IL).

I had a few new pieces I created specifically for this shoot. The veil was on my to-do list for quite some time. This was the perfect opportunity to just go and make it! It is a birdcage style and had a matching organza hair clip. The necklace was very last minute. I finished it the day I had to send everything up to Kristen. Our model bride couldn’t go without some statement piece of jewelry!

We have quite a few more photo shoots in the works. I can’t wait to show you the details! In the meantime, check out some of my favorite photos from this shoot! Snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket, a hot cup of hot cocoa and enjoy!

To see more photos head over to the post on Style Me Pretty and the full gallery. There is also a quick and easy DIY for the little shoe ‘clips’ above. Make sure you leave a comment to let us know what you think of this shoot and the winter inspiration!

2010 in Review – Thank you Brides and Customers

The most important part of our year would definitely have to be all of our brides and customers we work with on a daily basis! Truly without all of you, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

You have made 2010 a great year and 2011 will be just as great!

To celebrate the turn of the year, we will share some of the most memorable orders of 2010.

Super fun Beach Wedding from mid-2010. A mix of Organza, Buttons and Felt

Pink, Green and Grey felt for an Australian Bride

Pink green and Ivory Satin. Great sparkly accents.

It was the year of fall weddings! We did a bunch of great fall felt orders.

We loved the combination of this bouquet!

We did a lot of daisy button bouquets this year. This one was so much bright and fun!

This organza order was a lot of fun. I love the color combination! The photo was taken by Brandi Thompson!

Thank you again! The best year yet. I think 2011 will be even better!

2010 in Review – Collaborations with Kio Kreations

Some more blog love going out to Kristen today! So far in 2010 I have done four different themed shoots with Kio Kreations. (with the help of numerous other vendors that I will share below).

It all started with a message back in February. I thought it was awesome that a fresh flower florist was open to the idea of an alternative bouquet. That isn’t always the case! Over time, Kristen and I talked about indie bridal shows, projects we were working on and life in general.

For quite awhile I was working on some ideas for a styled shoot. I was just having a problem finding vendors and taking that step to make it a reality. One day it just clicked and I knew I had to ask Kristen if she was interested. It was like I opened the creative heavens! I think this is a great direction for RBK Creations. It gives a bride/party planner/etc so many more options. Not everyone wants a full alternative bouquet. Why not combine the fresh and the alternative together!

I have had so many new ideas since working with Kristen! Let me know you some of our work!!

The first shoot was two different bouquets and taken on two different days. There was a lush, romantic bouquet with button and felt stems. All of the bouquets were arranged by Kristen ofKio Kreations. With the stems from RBK Creations. All photos were taken by Tara Etrheim!

This bouquet was huge and absolutely beautiful!

The next part of this shoot was a bright, playful theme. There were two bouquets and a boutonniere. These bouquets also used the button and felt stems.

The colors are so much fun! Love!

It has been a great collaboration! I can’t wait to see what we come up with next.

The next photo shoot we did was a Christmas theme, without getting cheesy. It was Victorian, lush and amazing. The best part about it, even though there was a bridal bouquet created, the table setup could easily be done for a holiday party. There were numerous DIY projects that were written in detail so you can try it yourself. I recently posted a bunch of photos of this shoot so I will just post one more!

Photo taken by Tara Etrheim

The latest shoot was perhaps my favorite. However, I can’t share it with you yet! Yes, I know, teasing is not nice. You will just have to wait a week or so! We are also working on a lot more shoots. 2011 will be another great year for the RBK + Kio team! Keep an eye out.

2010 in Review – Features

Without magazine, newspaper and blog features, we probably wouldn’t have had the year that we did! We are very grateful for all of the different features and write ups from 2010! Here are a few and also a sincere thank you to each!

Brides Magazine

This was huge for RBK Creations. From the day we were contacted until it was on the stands, I had the hardest time keeping it to myself! I wanted to run around screaming, but of course I would just bite my tongue and wait awhile longer.  We sent a few different bouquets to Brides but the one featured was the little Purple Passion Button Bouquet. A fun, whimsical bridesmaid size button bouquet. We really appreciate this feature! It was a great spread of alternative bouquets and accessories for a fun wedding! Thank you Brides Magazine.

Get Married Magazine

The ladies at Get Married are so sweet! It was great to talk with them! It has been great following them on Twitter as well! Always great tips and stories. I sent in some photos of the Tickled Pink Satin Button Bouquet. The layout was themed around Alice in Wonderland. It was another great layout of amazing vendors. Thank you Get Married Magazine.

Weddings 2010 – Metroland Media Group, Canada

I love that we have an international client base. It is great to sell online and be able to reach that many people! At the beginning of 2010 we were asked to send in some photos for an annual wedding feature. I loved seeing our bouquet printed in newsprint. The glossy pages of a magazine are amazing but there is nothing like a newspaper! Thank you Metroland Media Group.

SDSU Ad  Jacks Blog

I loved my college and the department I was in. I was in the Journalism department with a specialization in Advertising. Everyone was very supportive and truly inspiring. Roxanne Lucchesi, my academic advisory, featured RBK Creations on the department blog. Truly honored! It was very nice to be recongized! Thank you Roxanne and SDSU.

Daily Candy and KABC 7 Los Angeles

RBK Creations was featured on the morning and afternoon news cast on KABC 7 LA. Daily Candy did a great segment on wedding planning on a budget. We had three different bouquets shipped to LA for the feature. I didn’t get to see the feature as it aired (being in Texas and all!) but I did get the video clip! You can check it out here. Thank you Daily Candy and KABC 7 LA.

Wedding Bloggers

I don’t even know where to start! Any and every wedding blogger who has featured us over the last year and throughout our whole existence…I owe you so much! I have had an amazing opportunity to get to know a few of these bloggers! Here are a few special shout outs! Most of these individuals I have met through Twitter! Gotta love Social Networking.

Brenda from Best Wedding Sites and Brenda’s Wedding Blog. She is so sweet! She has included a few different RBK things on her blog and has been a pleasure getting to know her.

Heidi from Truly Engaging. Another sweetheart! She has included some pieces in inspiration boards and other posts over the past year. Next time up north I will definitely have to meet up with her!

Brandi from Brandi Thompson Photography. I have been able to get to know Brandi over the last year and a half. She is one of the local vendors that I know and have worked with on numerous occasions. We have done some photo shoots, collaborations and much more!

Elizabeth Anne Designs. We were recently featured on EAD with a collaboration with Kio Kreations. It was great exposure and so much fun to be on her blog!

Kristen from Kio Kreations. I will be talking about Kristen more later! In the meantime here is a quick thank you to her! She is truly inspiring. All of our projects have been so great. She has done so many write ups on her blog this year. And we already have so many things in the works for next year! And to think…it all started with her sending me a message on Flickr. From strangers to a true friendship! Check back later this evening for more about RBK Creations + Kio Kreations!

Thank you Wedding Bloggers and the Wedding Industry for making 2010 amazing.

2010 in Review – New Products

We have been staying busy at RBK Creations this year. 2010 was a good year! Over the next few days (the last days of December, how is this possible!) I will be doing a recap of the year.

I thought I would start with our new items of 2010. I am so glad we can keep creating new items for the home and of course for weddings. Here are some of the latest items!

Headbands

We have been working on a wide range of headband styles throughout the whole year.

This style was created to match a full set of Felt Bouquets. It is a great size for a flower girl who is under age 3 or so!

We have a great line of satin headbands. This is our carnation style of flower. For the holidays we teamed up with the awesome Brandi Thompson Photography and created a headband JUST for her giveaway. It was the same color scheme as her logo. There were 4 giveaways from Nov-Dec. The photo on the right was also taken by her (and modeled by her!)

Garters

This is one of our newest items! We had a custom request for a garter to match a bouquet. I took on the challenge and love the final product!

This is the original garter. The wedding is on New Year’s Eve and a very romantic feel to it! Lace, feathers, pearls and rhinestones!

This is the first of the garters to be available in the shop. It is a high quality Tiffany Blue Satin, Vintage lace and a fluffy organza button flower to match!

Shoe Clips

This is another product we have been working on for some time now! I was doing the clips by request only for a couple of months but now I have a few available in the store.

I just love the sunny yellow color of these clips! A nice bit of sparkle in the middle. The satin is a very heavy/high quality material. I had a very limited amount of this. Enough to make the shoe clips and a matching hair clip

This is a great plum/black combo. The plum satin has a great pattern on it including dragons! It was a great find and I wish I bought more of it!

Cuff links and Tie Tacks

You can’t forget about the groom and other men in the wedding party! We recently released the line of cuff links and tie tacks.

Flower Girl Baskets

We have expanded our line of flower girl baskets. Here are a few we have done over the past year.

The possibilities are truly endless!

This is the latest one we finished. I just love the fun, bright colors. And the polka dots!

Here are a few other items that are new for RBK Creations in 2010.

We have a bunch more in the works too. I have a feeling 2011 will be a great year also! Check back tomorrow for our Recap and Thanks to those who featured us in 2010!
