Over the past couple months there have been a lot of awesome bouquets being created by amazing artists! One of the newer trends that I have seen would be the brooch bouquet. Stunning! That is how I would sum it up anyway. So sparkly, elegant and truly inspiring. Now the story on the following bouquet. Back in November, I had a bride contact me for a bouquet. This bouquet was created out of satin and I included some amazing rhinestone buttons. She loved it and decided to order more for her bridesmaid bouquets. Throughout the time I was creating the bridesmaid bouquets she saw a brooch bouquet online. I was given the challenge of creating a satin bouquet yet including some special brooches that belonged to her family. With the handful of brooches not being quite enough bling, I searched high and low for some more special pieces!

The final result, a hybrid. A bouquet that includes a lot of love and attention. I think this bouquet is the perfect combination of satin and bling. It perfectly compliments the bridesmaid bouquets yet stands out on its own. Take a look, let me know what you think!

Bling and More Bling!

I added some rhinestone buckles onto the base of the bouquet. Just an added amount of bling to make sure her bouquet stands out on the big day. I like how they look, definitely will be needing to find more of those!

Way back in September/October we created a few organza bouquets for a bridal show. The future design plans for the bouquets got set to the side when things picked up.

The only items we have been working on lately are custom orders. Not many other items are being created for the shop as it is prime wedding season. Luckily, we received an order for organza bouquets so it gave us a reason to create a set! We searched and searched for the perfect colors and found some amazing things!

The overall look of the wedding is elegant, whimsical, vintage, alice in wonderland theme! The color scheme is yellow, turquoise, white, ivory, light and dark grey. I love the colors and everything about them! The Bride’s Bouquet is in white and ivory. You can kind of see that in the photo. The lighting outside was gloomy and not the best that day. There are some fun buttons added in this bouquet as well to give it that extra sparkle.

The Bridesmaid bouquets will vary slightly. Two of the bouquets will have more yellow and two will have more turquoise. The one posted below has more yellow.

The next set of organza bouquets we will create will be very similiar but in white/ivory/seafoam green/light blue to go with the other beach wedding items. So excited to see how they turn out. Pictures will be posted of course.

I have also just finished a new type of bouquet. This bouquet is something that a customer requested so I had to take up the challenge. It involved about a month of searching high and low for the best supplies. I will be posting photos of this bouquet in the next week or so. I am in the works of getting some really super sweet pictures taken of it. Let’s just say it is super sparkly!

With the weekend and cold weather approaching, I look for inspiration for the work I have ahead of me. Things have been great with the business. We have been keeping busy (sometimes VERY busy). We really use the weekends to catch up and get things done as we both also work full-time during the week. Our schedules prove to be a struggle at times but we have it down to a science these days.

With all of that being said, I look forward to the work I have this weekend, and a few weeks/weekends to come. We work with some of the best brides out there!

One wedding I will be working on this weekend is a Beach Wedding! I can’t wait to see how everything will turn out for this one. The bride is awesome and I have been able to expand the products we currently create into something new and exciting. She has great ideas and that alone is an inspiration for us.

I know I have posted this photo at least one other time. BUT…I get to remake this bouquet in lighter blues/greens and ivory flowers for the beach wedding. I love love love this bouquet. It is definitely my Favorite out of everything I have ever made.

With the weather being as crazy as it has been, I have been searching the web for beach inspiration. I have found some amazing things! Make sure to click on all of the photos to go to the source. I had to get my mind in the light and flow-y mode. Blues and Greens. Soft and casual.

In other news, some updates will be made on the website this weekend. I have been working on some designs and we (well really the other half of RBK Creations) came up with an idea and we have been going full force with it. The goal is to have everything up and running (near perfection) by the first of the month as April will be HUGE for RBK Creations.

I snapped some better pictures of the bouquet they were interested in including (the Summer Sunset Bridesmaid Bouquet) and sent them her way. The publication was sent out the end of January and about two weeks ago I received a few copies! There are some other great Etsy Sellers included in the article! Those pinwheels are so much fun! This bouquet has received a lot of attention. I have had it on display at a few bridal shows in the area and the brightness of the colors must draw people in. It actually just sold yesterday from my shop!  The article was sweet! The title was “Who says you have to carry flowers?” Which of course is a question I bring up a lot. Don’t get me wrong, I love flowers, but at the same time I love being different and standing out from the crowd.

It is great to see all of the unique elements brides are including. I have seen some amazing things, and not just in the flower department. I am working on a few posts for the future with some truly inspiring brides and designers.

Recently, I was also contacted by my Alma Mater, South Dakota State University. At SDSU I studied Advertising. I was in the best program ever and the professors were all amazing. I have kept in touch with a few professors from SDSU over the past two years. I was really honored when I was contacted to be featured on the Ad Jacks Blog. It is nice to be recognized and especially from those who taught you a lot of what you know. I never realized how much I enjoyed the Ad program until I left and now I miss it all the time.

She did such an amazing job and the photos turned out amazing! You can see all of the photos here.

I thought I would share with you some of my favorites from that day. (Two of my favorites are in the previous post).

 The colors in this bouquet really pop off the screen. This bouquet was a custom order for a lady in Italy. Her wedding is in a month. I had just got the order finished the day before the shoot so I brought it along.

I think it might be the angle or the color in this photo but I just love how it turned out. This was also a custom order. I quickly finished it about an hour before leaving to meet Brandi for the photo shoot. I only had a few satin bouquets so I just had to bring this one along as well. I just recreated this bouquet for something I will share in about a week. 

 How much fun is this picture?!? I love how the organza looks the same as the plant. The colors are really accented in the center of the boutonniere.

 As a bouquet, this isn’t one of my favorites but this picture made me change my mind. I love the contrast with the bouquet and the red bench.

And, as much as I don’t like getting my picture taken…I really like this one.

I don’t know if anyone is still out there reading. I have been really bad at keeping up with the blog/website. If you are still following RBK Creations, thank you so much!

The past few months have proven to be very challenging with my schedule. There has been no time to come up for air and the blog was the first thing to fall behind.

In this post I want to share some of the reasons I have been so busy (pictures included of course!).

• Bridal Orders. It is definitely wedding season. This is our first full on/busy/orders coming in wedding season. It has been great to work with so many amazing brides. Since January we have worked with over 30 brides and this month we are working with about 12 more. 

  

• The Day Job. Even though there are two of us RBK gals, we both have full time jobs. My mother works at a dentist office and I work in the voting/election industry. Time spent on RBK Creations is from 6-midnight during the week and the entire time on the weekends. We have come up with a pretty good schedule and we run things pretty well with the schedule restraints.
• North Dallas Etsy Team. I (Ariela) have a larger role in the NDE team. I am the president and it tends to take up quite a bit of my time. It is a fairly new team and we are working on the structure. Once we get over these few hurdles I hope that it will run a lot more smoothly! If you are in the North Dallas Area check out the site!
• Features. This I can’t talk too much into detail. In the next few days-months I will have some great things to share with you all. One thing I can talk about however is a mention in a Canadian Wedding Guide. (Picture to be posted later) I was contacted back in January and was asked for some photos of the Summer Sunset Bouquet. The guide hit the stands in the middle of February.



• Life. Sometimes life just gets busy. In all aspects it happens. That has been these past few months. There is no complaint with how things are going, in fact, I love being busy. I think the worst thing ever is to be bored. There is none of that happening here!With all of that said, I better get back to planning some bouquets! I have a very exciting order that I will be starting in the next few days. It is definitely a big step for us at RBK Creations. There will be many elements of ours in just about every part of a wedding. Truly a dream come true for two bouquet designers from Texas.
